Cherrypaw and Cloudpaw both beamed.

Fernstar padded into the camp and dropped the prey onto the pile. "What do we have here!" She exclaimed to the apprentices. "Messy fur! My goodness!" She pounced on Cloudpaw to playfully groom the young apprentice.

With a squawk of indignation, Cloudpaw squirmed free. "Run!"

Daisypaw snorts, standing up besides Cherrypaw. "You'll protect me? Right?" She says to Cherrypaw with big eyes, her tone joking.

Otterpaw falls to the ground, laughing.

Cherrypaw stood with her chest puffed out. "Fernstar won't get to us!" She declared with a giggle.

Fernstar shrugged at Cherrypaw and leaped at Otterpaw, pinning him with a chuckle.

Cloudpaw crouched at the edge of the clearing, laughing uncontrollably.

Otterpaw wheezed, scrambling underneath Fernstar's hold.
